We’re hiring: Operations Manager

We are hiring an Operations Manager to lead the operational side of our business as we move the T-1000 and T-3000 from development into live field work.

We are ten people. That is the pitch.

At a big service company, the Operations Manager owns a slice. Here you own the whole thing. When our tools go offshore, you are the reason they work: you planned it, you prepared the equipment, you ran the job, and you are the one the client talks to. There is nowhere to hide, and that is the appeal.

Wellstrøm develops rigless barrier systems for well plug and abandonment. The T-1000 has been piloted and runs in 9-5/8″ casing. The T-3000 is in development and will run in 4.5″ tubing. Small company, serious technology, real operations. We need someone to lead the operational side properly as we move from development into live field work.

Some weeks you are offshore. Some weeks you are in the workshop with a torque wrench. Some weeks you are in a planning meeting with an operator. If you want a narrow, predictable job, this is not it. Here is what the job actually holds:

What you own

  • Plan and lead operational execution of tool deployments, from mobilisation through to demobilisation, onshore and offshore
  • Own operational readiness of the T-1000 and T-3000: assembly, function testing, maintenance and equipment tracking
  • Interface with operators and service partners on operational planning, procedures and HSE requirements
  • Coordinate logistics, mobilisation and equipment certification
  • Contribute to operating procedures, risk assessments and lessons learned
  • Support the workshop and test team on build, test and qualification activities
  • Hold line responsibility for operations personnel

What you bring

  • A relevant technical background, anywhere from trade certificate through to B.Sc./M.Sc. level, or the experience to match
  • A track record in well intervention, wireline, coiled tubing or downhole tools in oil and gas
  • Experience planning and running offshore operations, including operator HSE and well control requirements
  • Valid offshore certification, or the willingness to get it
  • Leadership experience, or the clear potential for it
  • Fluent English, spoken and written. Norwegian is a strong advantage
  • A practical, structured head, and comfort in a small team where the responsibilities are broad

The honest offer

Not a big corporate package, but a role with more ownership and influence than you will find almost anywhere at this size, in a company with technology that is genuinely ahead of the field. Competitive salary and benefits.

About Wellstrøm

Wellstrøm develops through-tubing, rigless barrier systems for well plug and abandonment, allowing operators to set permanent barriers without a rig. Our first tool, the T-1000, was successfully piloted in the USA in 2025 and runs in 9-5/8″ casing, plugging out to 13-3/8″. Our second tool, the T-3000, is in active development and runs in 4.5″ tubing, plugging out to 9-5/8″. We work with major international operators and research partners, and we are a small, driven team based in Rogaland.
